Leo and I love discovering new restaurants. Leo goes through reviews to look for new places to eat. As much as possible, we don't go to restaurants that were not referred to us (we learned our lesson with that restaurant at President's Avenue near 7-11. Fortunately it's now closed) but once we get a good referral, we hurry off satisfy our gustatory curiousity.
One of our new discoveries is Sango. My friend Kay brought me there a few weeks ago on a Friday. It's located at Mile Long beside Pharoah. Their menu consists of burgers, fries, shakes but with a Japanese twist.
When you enter the restaurant, on the left is a humidifier and a flat screen TV playing Japanese music videos. On the right are Japanese books and magazines and right in front is the order counter.
Their burgers are like Sloppy Joes. Their sauce reminds you of Japanese food--really good! There's no chance in eating their burgers without getting the sauce on your face or on your shirt. But it's really good. Their fries are Belgian fries. Kay taught me to eat them her way--sprinkle them with pepper and salt and dip them in catsup. Or, use the fries to scoop the burger sauce at the bottom of the plastic. Yumyumyum.
I recommend the Master Cheeseburger and fries. I tried their milkshakes too and once is enough. Too much calories but heck, they taste good!
Price wise, they're actually affordable. The Master Cheeseburger costs P105 and their cheapest burger is at P50. Not bad actually. Another tastier alternative than McDonald's and Jollibee.
