Wedding Countdown

What kind of invites should Sunshine and Leo have?

formal invites (heavy paper, embossed printing)

informal invites (pop-ups etc)

Once again, I checked my blog countdown and it's four months, four weeks and one day until our wedding. It's less than five months away! Yargh!!! Malapit na!!!

Well, perusing my checklist, I'm happy to say that the only big items pending are the flowers (yun pa ang nahuli!!!) and invites. I'm very frustrated with the flowers because I do not know what I want. My only exposure to flowers is what Leo gives me and it's usually just roses and tulips. Other than that, very limited knowledge. I'm tired of surfing and looking for the right flower combination and color. I think I'll leave this to my mother-in-law. She knows more about flowers than I do.

As for the invites, I'll have them printed by June so I can send them off to my relatives/friends abroad before month-end. Enough time for them to buy our pasalubongs (harharhar!). This is another item in contention. Leo and I haven't really decided what type of wedding invite we will have. I'm partial to having a pop-up invite but it looks so informal. On the other hand, I'm also leaning on getting the formal invites of The Write Impressions but they're kinda expensive. We'll decide by May. Sige nga, vote for your choice.

Also, I was contacted by Jong, our photographer, for us to hold our pre-nups by end of May. I still don't know my schedule if I can go on leave as he wants to shoot to happen on a weekday. We have shortlisted our locations to Tagaytay (their house) and Tagaytay Highlands. For sure, Tagaytay I just don't know where. I'm thinking we can go to Sonya's Garden but then it's too far. Baka nga Highlands nalang.

No Jinx!

The last time we had internet access here at the house, it only lasted for around 3-4 months until PLDT conked out. Now, we have Globe Broadband (courtesy of Timmy). It feels great to be connected again. Now I don't have to go to Leo's house to connect to the internet (they have wireless access at their house).

Now, I hope this lasts longer than PLDT.

Summer's Here

The start of the holy week is the unofficial start of summer. Actually, we could feel summer ever since the first week of March but holy week brings images of road trips and white sand beaches.

As leaves are indefinitely suspended at work, I could only dream of going to the beach this summer. There is a five day break coming up but I will NOT go out of town during those days as more than 50% of the Manila population will no doubt have the same idea. Jostling for space and accommodations at the nearby beaches is not my idea of a vacation.

So where will I spend the holy week? At home either to catch up on my sleep or watch DVDs. Leo and I will probably go off to Tagaytay by Friday or Saturday to celebrate his birthday with his family. He will be turning 31 on Saturday, April 7.

Break

I need a break. A break where I can just lie in bed and sleep for 8-10 hours each day. Or probably a break from the 12-14 hour workdays that leave me brain dead at the end of the day. Or a break from people who's purpose in life is to annoy me. My body AND my brain needs a break.

Yep, it's holy week and this is my chance to have that break but the next couple of weeks after the holy week will be hell in the office. And I do mean hell. People from Group will be coming in. I really don't mind them, it's the local pressure that can really hurt. There are talks that we will be coming in to work either on Maundy Thursday or on Monday (Day of Valor--also a holiday) to prepare for those visits.

Well, this will probably be my kalbaryo, so to speak. From the looks of things, the nearest vacation that I'm going to get will be during my wedding. I plan to go on leave for 2 weeks, 3 weeks the most (one week before and one week or two weeks after). I guess I'll just look forward to that.

TMNT

Rating:★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Animation
When Leo showed me the trailer of this movie, he was very excited. Apparently, he's a fan since he was a kid. Moreover knowing that the leader of the turtles is his namesake.

I was not expecting much from this movie. After all, I can't get the image of the old cartoons from my head (TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesTeenageMutantNinjaTurtles). I also remember how it was such a big hit to the kids that they would submit drawings of their Turtles to PhilStar (or was that Inquirer) to feature in the kids section.

But I was surprisingly entertained, not only by the graphics but by the story as well. The graphics were very good. I'm not an expert but I like the way it looked. It also seemed a bit dark. As for the story, it's not original but it gave the immortal angle a different twist.

There are some flaws though. Like how all 13 monsters ended up in New York City. Or probably more background on Casey and April and probably on Splinter as well.

Nevertheless, I recommend it anyway.

Sango, the Ultimate Burger!

Leo and I love discovering new restaurants. Leo goes through reviews to look for new places to eat. As much as possible, we don't go to restaurants that were not referred to us (we learned our lesson with that restaurant at President's Avenue near 7-11. Fortunately it's now closed) but once we get a good referral, we hurry off satisfy our gustatory curiousity.

One of our new discoveries is Sango. My friend Kay brought me there a few weeks ago on a Friday. It's located at Mile Long beside Pharoah. Their menu consists of burgers, fries, shakes but with a Japanese twist.

When you enter the restaurant, on the left is a humidifier and a flat screen TV playing Japanese music videos. On the right are Japanese books and magazines and right in front is the order counter.

Their burgers are like Sloppy Joes. Their sauce reminds you of Japanese food--really good! There's no chance in eating their burgers without getting the sauce on your face or on your shirt. But it's really good. Their fries are Belgian fries. Kay taught me to eat them her way--sprinkle them with pepper and salt and dip them in catsup. Or, use the fries to scoop the burger sauce at the bottom of the plastic. Yumyumyum.

I recommend the Master Cheeseburger and fries. I tried their milkshakes too and once is enough. Too much calories but heck, they taste good!

Price wise, they're actually affordable. The Master Cheeseburger costs P105 and their cheapest burger is at P50. Not bad actually. Another tastier alternative than McDonald's and Jollibee.

For more reviews on this restaurant, check out ClicktheCity. They have pictures of the burger and place!
