Get Milk!

I buy Basti's milk (Enfalac A+) on a weekly basis. I could stock for a month but shelling out almost 4Kphp/month on milk sounds shocking compared to 835php/week (besides, minsan si Leo bumibili. Hehe).

I went to Shopwise yesterday to buy juice for our school case presentation today and I thought I'd buy milk for next week's supply. I blinked when I saw the price at Shopwise. The price says 932.50 php. I thought maybe it was just wrong so I opted not to buy.

This afternoon, I was again at Festival Mall so I went to Savemore to check out Basti's milk. I was shocked when I saw the same price. WTF??? I can handle a 5 peso or 10 peso increase, but 100 pesos?

I still opted not to buy and decided to go to South Supermarket where I bought his milk last week. I was not surprised anymore when I saw the 100pesos price increase. I just really hope there's a good reason for this increase.

It's well worth checking Puregold if you have a outlet near you. Prices are much lower for milk & diapers than the others. Landmark's also fairly cheap. Take the FX that passes in front of your new office. =)

1K for a can?! how long does a can last? when will sebastian start eating solids? next time when you see discounts - buy in bulk right away. i remember an incident when christine was still using nappies. the merchandise was marked 60% off - so i bought about 2 dozen boxes - i think there were 36 nappies in a box. when i got home tito tony wanted me to get some more but when i returned to the shops these were only marked 60 cents off instead of 60 percent. anyway i did not have to buy pampers for a long time.

@ ninang - basti has started eating solids.his pedia will be changing his milk at the end of the month (enfapro). hopefully, that's cheaper compared to enfalac. since he has started eating solids, his milk lasts him 5-6 days.
@joelle - i haven't started work yet and there's no pure gold near our house (actually meron sa zapote road but i doubt i'll be able to persuade leo to go there. kapag traffic kasi, it's not worth the hassle for him. hehe). but anyway, i'll try to go to landmark one of these days.

Your Milk then was INFAMIL. At that time parang 100+ lang. Well gone were those good old days. Shocking talaga the prices of baby's milk nowadays. Unbelievable!!!!

Makes you wonder how poor people "afford" to have many children when raising one is already a financial challenge. When can Basti drink regular milk or better still eat mashed up baby food? The additional 100 pesos is 12% increase on a very sensitive product! That is terrible!

Find out the manufacturer---it is usually a pharmaceutical company. Maybe we know somebody there, and get it straight from the dealer.

... and I heard this is just the beginning of it all :) Try saving for $320K 4 yr. college fund (excluding Ivy League schools), mind blowing isn't it? But in the end, we all still sleep good at night knowing God will always provide :) No worries Shine, kaya nyo yan. Take care and God Bless.
