Predictably, Lil Rounds and Scott Macintyre advanced today and Jorge Nunez as well. The judges also picked (2 each) people who will sing tomorrow to find out who will take the last 3 spots and horror of horrors, Randy picked Tatiana! (WTF!!!).
I also saw a clip of Group 3's group song where they sang Katy Perry's Hot and Cold. Leo and I were wondering how they will do the choreography as Scott's visually challenged.

I was asthmatic when I was a kid, so physical exercises were not my kind of thing. I never ran or jogged--so I walked.

American Idol Season 8
My favorite show's new season has started and it has been a blast so far! I don't care about the reviews.
There has been a lot of good talents this year, especially from the men. Here are my favorites. I've embedded youtube videos of some of their performances. Apologies if some of them are crappy. Can't seem to find any decent videos:
Adam Lambert - he reminds me of Mig Ayesa, a finalist of Rockstar INXS. Not surprising as Adam's background is theater--same as Mig.
Anoop Desai - he's definitely better than Sanjaya. 'Nuff said.
Danny Gokey - he's better than his bestfriend. I wonder if they will play up his life story during the contest?
Jasmine Murray - love her audition. Reminds me of Brandy but with Alicia Keyes' charisma
Lil Rounds - she's the SAHM with 3 children. Great voice. I like her audition song more than this one but she's still good.
Jorge Nunez - I love his audition where he sang "My Way" in Spanish.
Scott Macintyre - the visually impaired contestant. He can definitely sing. I like his audition song better though.
Matt Giraud - a mean piano player and has a voice that goes with it. Liked his "Georgia in my Mind" performance on Day 3 of Hollywood week. Simon says he reminds him of Elliott Yamin from Season 5. I agree with him.
Michael Sarver - he's the oil rigger. I like his voice. Very cool. Oh and I love his manners--the way he says "ma'm" sounds so endearing. Well, his back story is also nice. (I'm such a sucker for back stories!)
Of course, there's the love them or hate them list:
Tatiana del Toro - She can sing but she's so full of drama it can be SO annoying
Nathaniel Marshall - another person that is full of drama. Tatiana and he certainly complements each other
Nick Mitchell aka Norman Gentle - he can sing and he can definitely entertain. Wonder how he'll fare during the live shows. Will he sing as Nick or as Norman?

David Archuleta
While searching for David Cook clips in Youtube, I saw David Archuleta videos as well. While viewing them I realized how pure his voice is. A different league from David Cook. Maybe after a few months, I will play this song (as well as other Christmas songs by David Archuleta) to my baby that I found in Youtube.
I know this is too early for Christmas but I almost cried when I heard this version:
Sorry if the video is not clear, but well, just listen to his voice and you'll know what I mean.
Not contented, I looked for other videos of David Archuleta and admittedly, I liked his version of the US National Anthem compared to David Cook. However, David Cook is still the best eye-candy there is.

David Cook on The Soup
I love watching "The Soup" and try to catch it on TV as much as I can (quite difficult as it shows at odd times). Joel McHale's so funny I remember he even judged once in Iron Chef America and he was so funny.
Anyway, he featured AI and David Cook in this segment. It's absolutely hilarious!

Time of My Life - David Cook
DAVID COOK WON! DAVID COOK WON! DAVID COOK WON! I've never been so happy over a damned tv show. I wasn't this happy since Taylor Hicks won. But well, David Cook is different. He's just really awesome! I LOVE DAVID COOK!!!! I'll buy all his albums and I'll watch all his shows. Pramis!
When he sang this song, I wanted to scream. I've been surfing for videos of him and pictures. Gosh. I just want to listen and look at him all day. Haha!

Smile at Me, David Cook!
I love David Cook! Though Simon says that his performance today is not his favourite, I loved it. Especially when he smiled! ((melt))

I LOVE DAVID COOK!
I LOVE DAVID COOK!!! He performed very well in today's episode of American Idol. He surprisingly gave a very good rendition of Mariah Carey's Always Be My Baby. It's actually something that you would want to hear over and over again. It sounded so awesome and it's something that can be used in a soundtrack. I could just hear it playing in the background in a Smallville scene. Hehe.

Overwork Addict
I think I'm addicted to overworking.
I can go for weeks working for 12 hours. Skipping dinners as I would get home past dinnertime and I'm so exhausted that I'll just drop in bed and wake up really hungry but would lose my appetite when I would see the food.
After all that meal skipping, I should lose weight but I compensate for the skipped meals by eating unhealthy carbs.
As mentioned yesterday, I was sick last Monday and when I went to the doctor today, I was diagnosed with Upper Respiratory Tract Infection prescribed with 1-3 days of rest with amoxicillin and a lozenge for my sore throat. Lots of fruits and juices, so there.
I should take it easy if I am to meet the challenges that are thrown to me at work. I have to be healthy if I am going to lead my team to meet our targets this year. Moreover, my boss from group will be arriving next week so I have to be up and about!
On a different note, Ramielle Malubay got voted out of American Idol today. Can't say I'm heartbroken over it. Her performance these past few weeks leaves much to be desired and the other contestants really outshone her (well not all). I especially love David Cook. He reminds me of Daughtry but he has his own style. Others like David Archuleta but he sounds so boyband. Let's just see.

Taylor Hicks Live in Manila!

I saw the ad last Sunday. I've been a fan of Taylor Hicks since Season 5 but I had no plans on going to this one. With the workload that I have, good luck on being able to leave early.
However, Tita Rosa sent me a text telling me that she just saw Taylor Hicks rehearsing across Glorietta 4. She kept on texting me until I gave in. At 630, I called it a day, packed up and walked towards Glorietta 4. It's not as easy as I thought as I was carrying 3 big bags--what I do for Taylor Hicks. It will definitely be faster than trying to get a cab during rush hour.
Tita Rosa managed to get a table at Superbowl where they have a clear view of the stage right across G4. Taylor Hicks took the stage at around 7pm. I wanted to scream when I saw him but it would freak out the other diners. I just ate, barely tasting what I ate, while watching him across the street. Unfortunately though, we can't hear him.
I quickly finished my dinner and walked across the street. What I would give to have my camera with me so I could at least take a picture of him. Man, he could really sing! Maybe why he did not make it as big as Daughtry or Carrie Underwood is that is songs are not mainstream. His style is more of Ray Charles and it's not popular to the pop generation.
It was great seeing and hearing him live, more of it's free!
